Waterfront

The City has many different areas that need a unique way of policing, and the Waterfront and Boardwalk area are included. The Waterfront Unit was created to provide proactive policing efforts within often heavily congested areas of the City’s downtown area between Ocean Boulevard and Kings Highway. The Waterfront Unit is made up of two shifts that work both day and night to cover the areas between 21st Avenue North to 6^th Avenue South.

Many of the officers assigned to these areas walk a foot beat, ride bicycles, use golf carts or T-3’s. These types of patrol assignments assist in providing easy access to the public and open the lines of communication between the business owners and operators, visitors, citizens and the police.
