Public Information

The Public Information Officer serves as a liaison between the Myrtle Beach Police Department, the community, and the news media, to provide timely, accurate and useful information about significant events. The Public Information Officer also advises the Chief and the Command Staff on public opinion and news media response regarding departmental issues. The Public Information Officer regularly works with the City of Myrtle Beach Public Information Officer to release information related to events or incidents affecting residents and visitors. The focus of the Public Information Officer is to provide timely dissemination of information to the public and work with media, community and business leaders, elected officials and other members of the public to promote excellence in police services.
