Real Time Crime Unit
The Real Time Crime Unit (RTC) is assigned to the Support Services Division of the Myrtle Beach Police Department. The RTC Unit is a centralized technology center in which its principal purpose is to provide officers instant and comprehensive information to help find suspects, vehicles, identify patterns and stop emerging crime. The RTC Unit is focused on monitoring, deterring and evaluating criminal activity in real-time through the use of surveillance cameras, fixed and mobile license plate recognition (LPR) systems, crime analysis and other law enforcement software and databases. This state of the art center provides the Myrtle Beach Police Department technologically advanced tools to help address crime and to make our community safer for our citizens and visitors.
