Our Communication Officers are responsible for receiving, dispatching and prioritizing both police and fire calls for service. They prioritize requests for police and other public safety services; determines availability and location of patrol units; transmits information and dispatches police personnel and equipment in response to calls.
The Dispatch Center answers emergency 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls for the city of MB around the clock, and is equipped to handle TDD (telecommunications device for the deaf) and text-to-911 calls. The Communications Officers dispatch police, fire, animal control, and after hours public works calls. They also utilize the National Crime Information Center terminal.
