The Myrtle Beach Police Department’s Uniform Division is made up of 124 officers. Of the 124 officers, 70 officers are assigned to working six direct patrol shifts. These shifts cover the entire city limits as call responsive officers. Primarily working out of their vehicles, the officers work 12-hour shifts that cover both day and night patrols. Each shift has two direct supervisors and approximately 13 officers that cover the entire city limits. These officers are the officers that are seen throughout the City answering calls for service, interacting with the community and addressing quality of life issues. The patrol shifts work daily with other specialty units to address any needs that may arise throughout the day or night.
